My
Savior Arose
Part of an Easter play I
wrote
Mary
speaks to Mary off stage:
Mary:
“It has been three days since we put Him in the tomb. Let us go and
prepare Him.”
Acoustic
guitar pauses long enough for Mary and Mary to run across the stage
to the disciples. Mary and Mary are crying out saying:
Mary/Mary:
“He
has risen!! Our Lord has risen!!”
Disciples
are saying: “What?
What are you saying?... This cannot be….”
They
shuffle onto the stage.
Acoustic guitar begins intro
to “My Savior
Rose”.
Mary
grabs Peter by the shoulder and says excitedly
Mary:
“An angel of God has told us that he has risen from the dead and
now LIVES!!”
Thomas
shakes his head in fear and excitement and says:
Thomas:
“No, No! It can’t be!”
Duet
with Mary sings:
Song:
“My Savior Arose”
(Spoken):
Do you hear what I said? (Repeat 2x)
Do
you remember that man,
They
hung on the tree
We
buried Him, I know
Three
days ago, He’s no longer there
My
Savior Arose!!
(Sings)
1. My
Savior Rose
My
Savior Rose
He
broke the chains of Death,
He
crushed the serpents head.
My
Savior Rose
2. My
Savior Rose
My
Savior Rose
Death
is swallowed up in victory,
Now
there is no sting
My
Savior Rose
(Repeat
1 & 2)
