The Caleb Chronicles is a
fictional book about a spiritual reality. It is comprised of
thirteen short stories about obedience, prayer, worship and
spiritual warfare. It is about a man of God, Caleb, who battles the
forces of evil with the help and guidance of The Timeless-One.
There are many who think
the spiritual world is like a dream, or it's all fuzzy and sweet, or
that it is not even real. On the contrary, the spiritual world is
more real than the one we exist in. We are in a constant battle with
evil. Every day we are attacked with images that test our character
and faith. We are attacked with evil thoughts such as lust, hate, and
envy. The enemy uses all kinds of devices to attack us. So, we must
be on our guard.
1Pe
5:8
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls
around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (NLT)
Of
Obedience
John
14:15
"If you love me, obey my commandments.
We
have
the
Ten Commandments in
the Old Testament, yet Jesus
gave us a new one to
follow as well.
John
13:34-35
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I
have loved you, you should love each other.
Your
love for one another will prove to the world that you are my
disciples." (NLT)
Mat
22:35-40
One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this
question:
"Teacher,
which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?"
Jesus
replied, "'You must love the LORD your God with all your heart,
all your soul, and all your mind.'
This
is the first and greatest commandment.
A
second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
The
entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two
commandments." (NLT)
If
we obey Jesus' Commands to love God, the Timeless-One and to love
people, then we won't steal from them, covet what they have, murder
them, commit adultery and so on.
Psa
119:1-2
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the
LORD.
Joyful
are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.
(NLT)
Of
Prayer
(The
Heart-Link)
Mat
5:44
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
(NLT)
1Th
5:17
Never stop praying. (NLT)
In
The Caleb Chronicles, prayer for Caleb and the people of High Rock is
known as, “Heart-Linking”.
The
Heart-Link with the Timeless-One is Prayer. Prayer is talking with
God, communing with our Father in heaven and giving Him adoration.
The
Heart-Link is done by lifting hands and eyes toward heaven.
The
hands are palms up; 1. In surrender to Gods will. 2. Ready to receive
from the Lord.
The
mouth is opened, but no words are spoken. God hears our silent cries,
our every thought and our deepest moans. (1 Samuel 1:13 and Romans
8:26.)
A
smoke-like vapor rises from the person. This is the incense of the
Heart-Link, which is the prayer itself. (Revelation 5:8)
Praying
to God can be done anywhere, anytime and any place. It can be done
standing, sitting, laying, driving, jogging, bathing, singing,
working etc, etc. It can be done with words, without words, loud,
soft, whispering, crying, laughing so on and so on. There are no
rules in talking to our Father in Heaven, the Heart-Link is just the
way Caleb and the people of High-Rock pray to the Timeless-One. I
think it's a cool way to pray, though. Right?
Pray
loud, Pray silent. Just Pray. i Heart-Link
Of
Worship
John
4:23-24
But the time is coming
– indeed
it's here now--when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit
and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him
that way.
For
God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in
truth." (NLT)
Psa
66:4
Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises,
shouting your name in glorious songs." (NLT)
Worship;
in Hebrew is
shâchâh
and means, to prostrate (especially reflexively in homage to royalty
or God): - bow (self) down, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do
reverence, make to stoop, worship.
Imagine,
every single creature on earth, everything that has breath will
prostrate themselves, will bow before and worship in shouting and
wondrous songs of praise.
Not
only things that have breath, but things such as rocks trees,
mountains, and streams. The whole earth will worship in one amazing
thunderous, deafening roar of praise.
Of
Spiritual
Warfare
Eph
6:12
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against
evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty
powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly
places. (NLT)
Spiritual
warfare is real. It is
a daily event. The enemy uses many devices to attack us; media,
finances, people, demons
and so on. We must be on our guard, and be in constant heart-link
with the Timeless-One so
we can overcome the attacks when they come.
And
we must put on the full armor of God.
Eph
6:12-18
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against
evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty
powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly
places.
Therefore,
put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the
enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be
standing firm.
Stand
your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's
righteousness.
For
shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you
will be fully prepared.
In
addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the
fiery arrows of the devil.
Put
on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God.
Pray
in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be
persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.(NLT)
The
spiritual warfare in The Caleb Chronicles is
a little bit more straight forward. Demons are physical beings in The
Caleb Chronicles as are Angels, the littlest of gods (Satan), and
even magic spells.
Within
the book you will find; angels and demons, witches and magicians,
aliens and time travel, the littlest of gods (Satan),
the Word (Jesus), and the Timeless-One (Father
God).
You will find; heart-linking (prayer), worship, praise, and even
a trip to heaven.
